The Ostrich is located in various parts of Southern, Central and Northern Africa.

Diet

Ostriches are ominvores and will eat mostly plants, grasses, foliage and seeds.They will also eat small vertebrates and invertebrates.

Habitat

The habitat of the Ostrich is the dry savannahs as well as the open and desert areas of Africa.

Size

Approximate weight of an Ostrich: 200 - 250 lbs.

Approximate size of an Ostrich: 6 - 9 ft. in height.

Reproduction

A male Ostrich will have a harem (or group) of female ostriches (usually 2 - 5 but can be more). The females will lay their eggs in the same nest and will defend the nest aggressively against any predators.
