The Texas Horned Lizard is located in southwest United States in Louisiana, Texas, Kansas, New Mexico, Arizona and Oklahoma. It also can be found in northern parts of Mexico.
The Texas Horned Lizard eats mostly harvester ants. It will also feed on other insects such as grasshoppers.
The Texas Horned Lizard can be generally be found in areas with a healthy population of harvester ants. These types of areas usually includes sandy areas and areas with low grass or sparse vegetation.
Approximate length: Average length is 3 - 6 inches.
The female Texas Horned Lizard will lay a clutch of up to 30 eggs per year.
